Many people assume that they can handle their tax grievance on their own. However, an attorney can handle the time-consuming and daunting task of compiling comparatives, obtaining an appraisal of your property, dealing directly with your tax assessor and ultimately presenting your case before your municipality's tax grievance board. Allow us to handle all aspects of the tax grievance process for you. Let my experience in this particular arena work for you.
We will determine the following:
- In today's market is your assessment fair?
- Investigate the assessor's estimate of the market value of your property? How do you know if the assessor's evaluation right?
- I will help develop your own estimate of the market value of your property. After I evaluate your assessment and if I determine your assessment is too high, I will negotiate on your behalf to get your assessment lowered.
- If your market value assessment reflects roughly the amount for which you could sell your property, then generally your assessment is fair however, this is not always the case.
Please contact us if you feel your assessment is unfair. We will evaluate your assessment and advise you accordingly. We just need a little information to start the process.
My practice is concentrated in real estate law, so my experience in this particular arena has enabled me to help many clients with successful tax reductions for their residential and commercial properties. For several years I have achieved favorable outcomes that have saved my clients a tremendous amount of money each year on their property taxes. My philosophy is simple, "Why pay more if you may not have to?"
In New York State, real estate values have dropped dramatically in the past few years. There has nver been a better time to take advantage of this fact in order to lower your property taxes. Despite this, the majority of all property owners have not challenged their real estate assessments. It is reassuring to know that most properties brought to the reduction process by us are in fact reduced. The assessor is the authority working for the government. I will work for you, the property owner.
